I'm excited to participate in an in-conversation event with Jon Sharples, hosted by the Simmons & Simmons Art Network at the start of Frieze Week this year. We'll be talking about artistic strategies for creatively using evidence or other legal-institutional materials as an artistic medium and what these strategies can teach us about the testimonial properties of objects and records; the way institutional process can dictate aesthetic outcomes; and the notion of performance inside the institutional machinery of truth seeking. The event will run from 7:00 - 8:30pm on 1 October 2018, at Simmons & Simmons, CityPoint, One Ropemaker Street, London, EC2Y 9SS. It's free, but ticketed -- tickets can be reserved here. More great news today: The Netherland America Foundation is joining Stroom in funding my participation in the NARS Foundation Residency in Brooklyn, NY this April-June 2018. I wish to express my deep gratitude to Nina Glorie, the NAF Program & Membership Administrator, as well as the selection committee that agreed to support my project so generously. Thank you for making my participation in this residency program possible!
Great news today: Stroom Den Haag is funding my participation in the NARS Foundation Residency Exhibition to be held in June 2018. A big thank you goes to Connie van Driel, who manages the Stroom SPOT subsidies, Director Arno van Roosmalen, and everyone at Stroom who makes The Hague such a progressive and nurturing community for contemporary artists.
I was recently selected to participate in the International Residency Program at the NARS Foundation in Brooklyn, NY! If all goes well with funding support, I expect to be in residence from April through June 2018 while taking a brief sabbatical from the legal world. I am looking forward very much to this period of full-time studio practice, studio visits, and spending time with my fellow residents from around the world!
